Is anyone familiar with using crushed walnut substrate?

MissHisssss Jun 27, 2003 02:34 AM

Hi all.... I usually use aspen for my snakes, but thought I'd try some crushed walnut substrate for a while cuz it looks better. Is anyone familiar with this stuff? Is it digestable?

Thanks in advance,

MissHisssss

It is attractive, but it is very dusty and made of small sharp pieces that are easy for snakes to ingest and not digestible (mostly lignins and cellulose).

Therefore it is a litter made of material most likely to cause internal damage to a snake, IMHO.
