I am considering starting a rat colony for my ball pythons. What size cage do I need for one colony. I want one male, how many females do I need?

Do I need to seperate the babies or the pregnant females or the male or anything like that?

I know nothing and I can't find a good page that isn't for pet rats. Anyone know a good link? Thanks.

You could go with a trio and make about 20 babies every month or two. If you snakes will take f/t then that will work. If they need live you may need more girls. With rats you can move a male between groups without too many fusses. Otherwise you don't need to separate anyone from anyone.

Thanks. That was what I was thinking too. I have a 20L aquarium that is out of use. Will this be big enough to house the three adults, litters (which will be sumarily killed and frozen before weaning), and a wheel or something?
