Hi all... I usually use aspen for my snakes but thought I'd try some crushed walnut substrate for a while because it looks nice. Is anyone familiar with this stuff? Is it digestable?
Thanks in advance,

I used it once with a BP. It kept getting on the prey items and would get stuck in the snake's mouth. I won't use it ever again.

Don't use it!!! If a piece gets stuck in your snake's mouth, it will cause irritation and inflamation, in other words a case of mouth rot. Use newspaper or larger pieces of bark.
For the last 5 years I've used crushed walnut shell for the young snakes that I have on display and I have never had any problems. Of course, like all my snakes that I have on substrates other than paper, I feed in separate containers so I don't worry about accidental ingestion. For my larger snakes I have switched to Aspen Supreme which is a pelletized aspen bark product.
