anyone ever have any trouble with cypress mulch as a substrate?

cee4 Sep 27, 2004 02:24 PM

I thinking of switching all my snakes over to this. I like the look and I have one bp that seems to get dehydrated easy and he is the one I initially started using this for to raise the humidity. I use a piece of slate as a feeder dish and havent had any trouble so far with substrate ingestion.|But I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with this that I havent thought of..I wont be using this for the Hoggy though I keep him on sand, he likes to borrow in it.

Do you just buy a bag from a place like Home Depot? Do you treat it in any way (e.g., provent-a-mite)? Thanks...

I never need to treat it...And yes Home Depot is my source. Works Fine.
