What size heater should i get for a 300 gallon stock tank?
You have a few choices. You can get a swimming pool or a pond heater and adjust temp before you place your turtle(s) in. OR you can get several submersible aquarium heaters encase them in strong PVC pipe with holes drilled in to protect the glass heater elements. IF you go with the second method, roughly figure 50 watts per 10 gallons which leaves you with needing.....5 300W heaters. OF course this is just a rough estimate, realistically you might end up needing fewer or more depending on your climate and the gradient you want to reach and maintain. Let me know if this helps.
Leucistic is right. And to top it off, keep the water NO LESS then 80 degrees for ally's and mine thrive at a little higher.
