Damn, what have you been feeding that beauty?
Greg
Greg,
..She eats rats and plenty of them. Raising this snake was sort of an experiment for me. When I used to breed JCPs I fed them heavily and grew them up quickly and they did great. My Diamond Pythons were raised following the conventional wisdom of feeding them lightly, giving them longer periods of serious winter cooling and growing them slowly. I did not have good results with them. When I got this snake I decided to raise her just like I did the JCPs. At two years of age she is a little over 7 feet long and is doing fine. I will cool her for the first time this winter with hopes to breed her to my male Diamond Python.

input on the mouse eater its good to know that there is still hope for her to switch over.. by chance was you'r mouse eater a JCP from BHB to??I think I read about that snake a few years ago.I'm doing the cross to a pure Diamond thing this year too gonna be alot of nice babies next spring, can't wait to see what you'r girl produces, good luck with her.Dave
Dave,
..She is not from BHB bloodline. But when I did get her it was right after Brian's great article in Captive Breeding magazine about JCPs. That article caused much interest in JCPs and there were not many available for sale so the prices were very high compared to JCP prices today.
