I'm very happy !
If it still has Coccidia I will let them with him !
It is "almost" normal and the neurological side effects are almast disappeared.

Excellent! Sometimes meds cause some strange reactions in reptiles that clear up after several days.
I have a large male Honduran Milksnake that I'm treating for a very heavy load of Coccidia now (Eimeria flaviviridis). I'm using Sulfadimethoxine at 50mg/kg qd x 5 days, then at every 2 days x 5 doses. The 5 day course is finished and the coccidia load is markedly reduced. I believe it will be eliminated by the end of the next 5 doses. Coccidia is very difficult to clear up in reptiles for some reason, but this course has worked well for me in the past.
This snake is a recent acquisition, and was fed on live mice. I strongly suspect that the live mice were the vectors. I'm in the process of changing him to frozen/thawed mice now.
Is it true that a benefit in feeding reptiles FT rodens id that the process of freezing eradicates parasites and other no-goodniks in the rodents?
I thought they would just go dormant?
Ben
Yes, freezing mice and rats for at least 3 weeks will kill most parasites and bacteria. Some viruses may go dormant, not sure about that, but mice don't really carry viruses that would affect reptiles.
From what I've read about this technique, the process of freezing tends to breakdown the cellular membranes of the bacteria; the same goes for most parasites; however, there may be some resistant species.
