Lima Beans?

Triad Sep 27, 2004 10:04 PM

Do Uro's eat lima beans?

My dragon does so I was just wondering because I like making everybody's salad at the same time. It saves me time, they all are eating their turnip greens, endive and escarole I just want to know when I feed them their frozen foods like green beans and green peas if they can also have lima beans.

Oh whats everyone's take on corn and carrots?

I used to feed my uro lima's, carrots, and corn especially during the winter months when green are not readily available around me. The lima been were his favorite. I think they are fairly good for them.

Hey,
I know they must like them because Annabella seems to be fond of nothing else, limabeans...
I have to trick her by wraping leafy stuff around them.

you might want to give that a try too. Ra just LOVES pumpkin innards (the slimy, stringy, gooey, gross part of the pumpkin where the seeds are found). After I'm done making my jack o' lantern for the year, I feed Ra the best part (he also likes the pumpkin meat but not as much as the gooey stuff). Since pumpkin is a member of the squash family, it is safe to feed to a uro (plus I asked Doug Dix about this and he said it's safe).

Hey Sunfox thanks for the info about pumpkin. I didn't even think of using it and why throw away good food if you can use it. I hope that Buddy my uro and Tiny the iguana will like it. They are set in their way as to their food.

i here that about uros being set in their foods. i cannot get helga to eat anything but peas, squash/zucchini and mustard greens. she does like the dry beans stuff too. but the other day i actually saw her eating her escarole (spelling?). she was going at it. it made me smile since she barely ever ate the mustard greens. but any other lettuce she just kicks out of the food bowl.

yeah the mali's really just like a couple of things.

Right now I'm trying to get them both to eat their fruits but they seem more interested in green beans and green peas.

I'll have to try the pumpkin thing. Tanner's orchard has this thing where if you carry like 10 pumpkins so many feet you can keep them all and pay only the price for 1 pumpkin.

It's nice cause Justin, my brother, carried 12 pumpkins last year so that's a lot of innard stuff for the animals
