Marcel or others with tail feeding exp.

repzoo44 Sep 27, 2004 10:21 PM

I was able to find some live pinkies and one of my non feeders ate so that leaves one that wont. I fed him a tail this evening. How often should I feed the tails? Should I try a pinkie in a few days or just go with forcing tails for a few meals? Any help is appreciated. Oh, and on a sad note, the mother of the little hatchlings died yesterday. I have no idea why. She looked fine yesterday morning. Maybe it just took too much out of her to lay. We'll miss her.

I am sorry about the female. I feed tails just to get them started. So after feeding a tail I wait 7 days and then offer a pinky again. If it refuses the pinky again I feed a tail 7 days later (14 days in total) again. Most take one or two tails before starting to get interested in food.

Its for feeding stubborn hatchlings that wont eat. You can take a mouse tail and force feed them. This is the first time I have done this. It was very easy to do as opposed to forcing a pinkie and with any luck they will start eating on their own shortly.
