rubbermaid 2220 & 2221 boxes for a rack?

lolaophidia Jun 27, 2003 06:53 AM

Anyone here know a great place to pick these up? I went to 7 different stores yesterday looking for boxes less than 6 inches tall (here're the dimensions 2220 is 5.853 x 16.825 x 23 in and 2221 5.888 x 11.098 x 16.078 in), and it looks like the product line has changed. I can't find the white lidded boxes anywhere. Every thing has a new clear top and is around 6.5" tall, the Clear Impressions line or some such.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Lora

I was told they stopped making the shoebox size with the white lids,so maybe they stopped making all sizes,i went to Lowe's and all they had were about 50 of the white lids and no rubbermaids.will be back there tomorrow to see if they have them again, good luck

OK, so it's not just my area. I ordered some on line, so hopefully they've got the older stock. Thanks for the info!

Is rubbermaid discontinuing them? Every store around me has them last time I checked a couple days ago. Did you try office depot?

Erin,
I didn't try Office Depot, just Staples and Office Max(oh and Wallmart, Target, Big Lots, Kroger, Lowe's, Bed Bath and Beyond). I'll see if I can find an Office Depot around here and pick them up!
Thanks,
Lora

Just called Office Depot, they said they were clearance items, no longer in stock and they can no longer order them. I'm thinking Rubbermaid is no longer producing them. So if you see them, you might want to pick up some extras for future use.

Oh wow, thanks for telling me. I haven't built my rack yet, but I guess I might want to build it around a different brand?

If you get your boxes before you build your rack, no problem. Just build the rack to the size of the boxes you get. What I'm dealing with is a rack that was designed for a specific model/size box. When Rubbermaid changed their boxes, the new ones don't fit (they're 1/2" too tall). So I need the old style boxes and the stores in my area have cleared them out for the new style boxes.
Thanks,
Lora

I just found out it wasn't office depot, I found them at Staples. They had a ton of them so I bought enough for my rack last night. Have you tried there?

I ended up ordering the boxes on-line at http://www.rubbermaidproducts.com . Shipping was 20.00 but I had about spent that in gas driving all over town and I drive a hybrid (just kidding it'd take 800 miles to use 20.00 in gas in my car)! So if anyone else needs boxes and can't find them locally check out the above site.
Thanks for all your help!
