Changed behavior?

A friend of mine has a bearded, close to 10 years old. They have had him for about 2. He has been the sweetest lizard you can imagine..

But the other day, he went completely terrified when she petted him in the terrarium, he jumped down to the ground, blowed himself up & hissed at her with his mouth open. & it keeps going on since then..

The first thing she could think of was that he had something wrong with his eyes, but they look great & so does the rest of him too..

Can someone tell us what could be wrong with him..

its almost breeding season! If he is a male he could just be feeling his hormones. My male is very fiesty right now.

When I read this some hours ago before school.. I thought same thing.. Mating season, but still.. would mating males be that jumpy? Mine isn't like that at all.. provided he does have a female already, but still.. hm
