"This whole JUNGLE arguement is beginning to be a big HEADACHE!"

Hypoboa1 Sep 28, 2004 10:39 AM

I can remember when I first got raindrop,I thought she resembled a jungle, but really didnt say anything because she was sick an I wasnt sure if she would pull threw or not!But amazingly enough she did so after about 4 or 5 months of good eating an shedding on her own,I asked a question, did my best to explain her looks the best I could since I didnt have a pic of her an BAMMMMMMMO!All heck broke loose!I was a newby an I got my but JUMPED for just asking if she may be a jungle!!!!Then Bill Cagle jumped in an brought up his american jungles an The load was lifted off my Back an on to his!Alot of the conversation got very deep an quite a bit of the posts were pulled!BUT THAT IS THE WAY IT WENT!Since then I have made numerous calls an spoken to quite a few people about her!An she is gravid right now as we speak!I have excepted the fact that I have to prove her out!Even though their is quite a few people out their that I will not name that kinda feel like I do she may just be, an mid january, the litter aught to show a sign of this!Yes I have shown an ATTITUDE over this subject! But I feel as Jon said down below,That as a newbie at the time, when I just asked for opinions an if she may be I should not have gotten my head ripped off for asking this! Then it doesnt help much that my pics of her stank an on top of that her eyes were just clearing where she was in shed!I have been hit with she has the destictive markings but her color is kinda off,too not a dang thing but prove it!Well we all have boas an we all know that when they go into shed their coloring dulls big time! But when they shed their coloring is still the same its just more vibrant with shiny new scales!I mean this isnt a baby that I was asking about whos coloring may or may not change with age! This was an still is an adult female that is a little over 6 ft long an 26 lbs!I just personally feel that I got jumped on so bad 6 months ago for asking a question,That when the babies are born an a 50% sign of these abberencies Momma is showing, show up in the litter! That I am personally scre-----!Because of all this argueing! An I understand that even if these abberencies show that I have to do another breeding before i CAN PROVE IT!What if the abberencies do prove out!Look at all the babies I just sold in Febuary for basically the cost of a normal! Why!Because of all the arguing on this matter!WELL I GOT NEWS FOR THOSE WHO JUMPED ON MY BAND WAGON AN YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!I WILL KEEP EVERY DANG ONE OF THEM TILL IT IS PROVED OUT!And if she is nothing more than a flaw in nature We will love her the same!Sorry this was a very long post but I had to vent after seeing all this argueing going on!An I feel as a newbie all them months ago my case should not have been jumped for asking a question! Thanks for caring enough to read my post! Thanks Eric &Cammie![E&C'S EXOTIC HOUSE OF REPTILES][Hypoboa]

Eric i remeber your post and i dont remember anyone jumping down your throat as you claim i have to go back and check it out again but i do know this your boa is a very pretty boa and i really do hope that she proves out to be genetic as far as her being a jungle , in the sense of the swedish line she is just a bit to dark if you look to see pictures of adult animals from that line all hold exceptinal color and im not saying this to take away from your animal at all and as far as your animal being gravid i think it may be just a bit too soon for this didnt you just place the male in there with her a few weeks ago? oh well that doesent matter as far as you keeping back all the babies if they show aberancies thats a good choice and im glad that you are thinking about being responsible and going with a second breeding to prove or disprove genetics i only wish more people would do that. dont let the word newbie bother you we were all newbies at one point or another welcolme to the hobby if you need anything feel free to email me @ xxxjohnnyblazexx@aol.com

I know how it is. I'm sorry you feel you were mistreated here. I'm pretty new too and I got jumped on in another forum. As for your snake whatever she is if she's not a jungle but her markings are genetic then maybe its something new. It never hurts to hope and I know some people will be offended that someone new might make something they might want. Don't let it get to you tho. Because of people who are willing to ask questions here many snakes are getting better care. So go ahead and ask and if you don't get the answer your looking for e-mail someone here who can help you. I will and the post above says the same. Good luck.

Yes Its been a little over 3 weeks since I put the pastelish like male in with her!She showed the little marble type things down her sides an is swelling like a football! An I actually witnessed copulation with her on several different occasions!Actually once I didnt think they were doing anything an I went to pull him out for food offerings an oops he was in her!I worried about wether I hurt him or not,but he ate an I put him back in with the other female an he went to town so,I got lucky an didnt hurt his pride! But the day before he quit doing anything with either female,no interest at all!It was time for him to feed again so I took him out an he ate but shows no interest in wanting back out like normally!Hes just laying in his tank digesting!I have been trying to learn an have found out the biggest mistake that one can make is to take the male away to soon so I put another male in with the abberant female!Big mamma shed yesterday so her 105 day count is on!But the abberant female hasnt went into a post ovulation shed yet for some reason? An I didnt want to put this male in with her since the pastelish male was in with her but he wouldnt do anything?Who knows,I am still learning! But the new male is all over her courting an shooting sperm plugs!Did the pastelish male do his job?Or did he just do enough to make her start cycling her egg folicles? An is the new male going to be the one to actually does his job!Any help with these questions would be great!Maybe my case wasnt actually jumped on,You could be partially correct john,But I definatley felt like I got kicked to the side an everyone went to Bill an I got left on the side lines! But as far as raindrop goes,Whatever male does the job they are bothe unrelated to her!Another question is could bothe males have taken to her?If so It could be a very interesting litter cause the second male is a morph! Thanks for any an all help!Eric![Hypoboa]

Yes both males can sire a litter. (I have seen a het albino female bred to an albino male and a hypo male that threw albinos, normals and hypos) So you could be looking at a diverse litter if she takes and produces. (good luck with that btw)
