hello all,
i have been feeding my leo mealworms for a few months now and was wondering if maybe i hould add crickets, superworms, and wax worms. i want mealies to be the staple diet because mealworms are much easier to deal with than crickets so my question is how often should i incorperate other foods into his diet. what has been sucessful for you? thanks for the suggestions.

Buy some and see if they'll eat it. Depending on how old your leo is i would do the whole - see how much they'll eat in 15 min and if they're adults feed them every other day.
Just mix it up, personally i am so lazy I mix it up when i have the time and have gone to the mall and bought crix or other feeders

I use mealworms also. I agree that they are ALOT easier to take care of and breed then crickets. Feed wax worms only as treats as your leo can get addicted to them. You can throw in some crickets every now and then. It just depends on when you can get them etc. When your leo gets older you can give it a pinky or two. (day old mouse) Remember to gutload all the insects a day before feeding them to your leo. Hope this helps.

my leo is almost a year old. i was thinking of sticking to the 15 mealies everyday and the like maybe once a week instead of throwing in mealies i could throw in a few crickets or a few superworms. i can't handle the pinky though. i feel way too guilty killing a baby mouse.
