Cerastes cerastes mating questions

PatrickR Sep 28, 2004 10:49 AM

I was thinking about aquiring 2 females and one male Desert horned viper with the intention of thinking of doing some breeding but I cant find any documentation on specifics
Does anyone know where to find good information of the breeding of this specie.. Temp, Time of year, specifics, number of young, ease, etc

Thank you

can't supply you with breeding specifics but I can warn you. For some reason there is a very High mortality rate among males of this species. I lost three males; the longest survivor lasted eight months. I have had the same female for three years and she is thriving (why?)

I personally know of no one who is breeding these, but I have run into lots of people who have had the same bad experience with the males I have had.
