Smoking in your reptile room.

drkind Sep 28, 2004 01:52 PM

I was going to trade my last normal 04 ball(nothen big ) for three WC females that are ready to breed this year. When I got to his house, he was smoking and burning insents(sp) in his reptile room, I passed on the trad and told him I didn't think it was too cool to smoke in the reptile room.

Now I do smoke, but never in my reptile room. What about you all?
Do you all think the smoke could hurt the reptiles? He looked at me like I was stupid, and said it was fine. I still backed out on the deal, but was I wrong to do so?

Thanks.

I think you did the right thing. I never let people smoke in our house, since our reptiles are in the dining room which is in the center of the house. Even if i still smoked, I'd never do it in a room with my herps.

I don't have a reptile room cause I want my bps in the living room.....I feel if they were kept in a designated room..then it would be like a chore to go in there....yadda, yadda..you get the idea..........but anyways..My wife and I both smoke throughout our home. We have a air filtration system/unit in our home because of the cigarette smoke and have never really thought about the smoke affecting any of our pets.

Personally...I would have never thought anything of it......but it bothered you, so you made the right decision.

The spousal unit and I are both smokers. The reptile room door is ALWAYS closed and I do not allow anyone to smoke in there.
A friend of mine had two snakes suddenly die after his wife lit some stinky ass candle in his reptile room. Can't really prove it was the candle that caused the deaths, but thats his thought.
Before I had a reptile room,my cages were scattered about the house and we smoked in every room. Now that the snakes have a room of thier own,why smoke in it?
