Educating the public can be fun

My friends moved into a small cabin that was literally placed in the middle of the woods, and there are thousands of wood froglets and american toadlets throughout the small lawn. I am happy to say, I helped them learn how to differentiate between the two species, and aso told them that the little guys are great mosquito killers. And I also told them to be careful with the lawnmower. They were under the illusion that theyre were just frogs, but we showed them that the tiny toads are quite different looking close-up.
It fascinates me that most everyday people have such a minimal amount of knowledge on frogs and toads. Our one friend even mistook frog eggs for a water plant! I think us frog people have our work cut out for us, to enlighten everyone who will sit still for 5 minutes on frogs and toads. It is always a good feeling when you can educate some people about these kind of things. Maybe I'll write a book!

Wow!!! I know how it feels to have that much wildlife living around your house with us animal lovers. Where I live, once in while there are literally thousand of toadlets in the late spring. I've seen kids catching them and keeping them for pet. I think they're California toads.

yeah you have to watch where you step at their house, with all those frods/toads. we only get large amounts of small toads like that in the middle of summer, though i did find an amer. toad in our dining room after someone (not me) left the door open a bit overnight!
