Can someone please help me identify this Florida frog ?

nimmerfroh Sep 28, 2004 06:22 PM

I live on the east coast of Florida in Melbourne (central florida) and found this guy in the cup holder of my boat today. He's about 1.5 inches long, plain white belly, 5 toes on each hind leg, 4 toes on his front legs, and happily ate 2 wax worms. I plan to release him shortly but would like to know what type of frog he is. Thank you.

Fred

It is a Cuban treefrog, Osteopilus septentrionalis.
They have been established in FL for many decades.
