Is there such a thing as too much greens?

xcrashx21 Sep 28, 2004 07:18 PM

I have posted before that I have hatchlings now about a month I've had them. I am still giving them protein every day along with red leaf lettuce, romaine, carrots, and sometimes as a treat some strawberry pieces. They are doing very well active and basking but just out of curiosity is it possible for me to give to much greens because I know that it is possible to give them too much protien. Also when should I stop feeding them protien every day? Thanks.

I believe you can start feeding them pellets every other day around one year and you can feed the greens as often as you like.

The only time there is such a thing as too much greens, is if you are feeding exclusively too much of one thing. For example, too much spinach or kale can be bad because they can bind calcium. But what you are feeding sounds like a really well rounded diet and shouldnt cause any problems.
