Shedding question

How long after leopard gecko turns gray does it shed? Mine is really washed out looking and hiding in his humid hide. Do they usually eat during shed too? I know my snake won't but my gecko isn't a snake.

Actually mine lose their appetites before a shed. I guess it depends on the gecko.
Also the hiding and everything is perfectly normal, just check the next day for leftover shed
