Hi there:
Recently at my local exotics store, I went to get a new type of small terrestrial snake. I found that nothing of the sort was currently available, so I am going to talk to a local herpetologist and see if I could purchase such a snake from him, or a colleague. Either that, or order a Western hognose online. Both are fine with me.
Anyway, as my mother and I were leaving the pet store, we stopped to look at a vivarium containing several species of poison dart frogs. There were about 4-5 species on display, as I recall. As wee were watching the frogs feeding, my mom, who really has eagle eyes, said "Hey! Look at that tail!" "What tail"' I asked. She pointed to a slab of cork atop some moss.
Sticking out of a crevice in the cork, was a microscopic tiny tail. It was a lizard for sure. I got someone to come see what it was. He seemed rather startled. He reached in, and actually broke the slab of cork with both hands.
Out fell a tiny gecko, about 1/2 an inch long. It was a Meditteranean gecko. He said that they get loose all of the time, and run about inside and outside the building, Well, anyway, he's mine now, and really cool!
