FBT eggs!

toby1331 Jun 27, 2003 09:04 AM

I've had my FBT for about 2 years. They have croaked at each other and hung on to the back of each other on and off but nothing has every happened. Last night it happened again but they left what I am guessing are eggs. It looks clear with lots of little black dots. What do I do? Do I have to put them in another tank? I also have a FireBelly Newt and another newt in the tank. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Where in the tank did you find the mass? Is it in water? I saw your above post. Do you think its only skin now? If its an egg mass, it will be at water's egde. The water has to be about 5 inches deep. And you will see little charcol black centers that will begin to twitch soon. 4 days later they will hatch into flatworm like tads that hang to the sides of the tank in similar fashion to an algae eating fish. The tads will puff up after a good feeding. If you have no body of water at least 5 inches deep they will not lay eggs.
