Tegu and planted tank.

emumaster17 Sep 29, 2004 08:11 AM

I have a young arg b/w tegu. I was thinking about moving him into a planted 75 gallon tank. Do you think he will dig up everything? I have him in with fake plants now. He seems to avoid them. He digs around a big rock and hides under it. I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried it and had any success.

Thanks.

Good luck! I'm just trying to picture myself keeping a planted tank with Vito. Nothing I have in his tank stands a chance. He digs stuff up, knocks things over, pushes 2nd floor cage furniture down his stairs, etc. You may get lucky, but these guys dig alot and like to rearrange their homes the way THEY want, not how we want!!

My guess is your B&W will defiantly do some digging, as to how much only he or she can really answer that. The second thought is that that 75er will only be big enuf for him/her for a few months if cared for properly
