Hey

Is it a male? sometimes males stretch their vents from calling (also might be why hes around the water, looking for a mate) If you could describe it to me I might be able to help better.

Yes, He is a male. What it looks like is there is basically a pink bubble sticking out of his vent....it's like a healthy pink color too...not red or dark.

He hasn't been singing lately though.

Then it might have been chirping softly..... My frog did this once dont know if its normal tho. Wierd too cause both my males did it same time and it sounded like purring. Barely audible.

Bah sorry, males dont cal from their vents... (will this week ever end) Red blisters are usually blood blisters. They are more prodominant in WC specimens. (I usually only seen them on head tho). Have you revently cleaned your aquarium(if not might be from bacteria, as blood blisters usually are), are you useing declorinated water. Frogs permeable skin is a great way to tell us that we are doing something wrong. Can you list how he is being kept, i might be able to help.

He's being kept in a small, oh mabie 10 gallon tank. Plastic vines for him to hide in. Water dish, coconut shell bedding. I clean his tank about once a week cuz that's about how long a dozen crickets lasts him. I'm using ReptaSafe in his water, which is just regular water....the repta safe is suposed to take care of the chlorene.

Ok....stupid question....I just recently added a mediup size bird to the mix in my apartment....could this be caused by her dander, and if so...how can I correct it??

hrmm ive heard bad rumors about useing declorinateing stuff... like with caecilians I believe that this was causeing the aquatic ones to die. Id leave the water to sit for a minimum of 24 hours before useing it. Not sure about birds as ive never kept one.
