I've been thinking of an idea I saw in an article about Red-eyed tree frogs.

There was this section of feeding, than there was a guy who had placed a jar in the tank (he probably put it under the substrate) and placed the crickets there (high enough so they could not get out)and then the frogs just climbed down and ate their food.
That way he could keep track on how much the frogs are eating and the crickets don't get lost in the tank and the they come out twice as big!
Now what I wanna ask is, can you feed FBT this way too?

I would guess it would work. I think you have to disable the crickets though, like pull off a back leg so they can't jump out of the feeding jar.

You may need to be concerned about the toads finding them though. Some may be smarter than others.

For example, I have 4 baby american toads and when I feed them their fruitflies, 3 of them wander around aimlessly for the flies, but one has learned that if it jumps in the water dish, where some of the fruitflies get stuck, it has an easy meal. It is easily the largest, fattest toad of all 4. It's actually kind of cute...when I start to tap on the fruitfly container to get them to drop to the bottom, it hears the tapping and immediately jumps in the water bowl ready for it's incoming food.
