Normal Male Ball Pythons: The snake nobody wants?

mingdurga Sep 29, 2004 12:27 PM

The Morphs seems to have turned normal males into the guppy of the python world. If it's not guaranteed het for something, they seem almost impossible to sell, even at deep discounts. Where exactly do they wind up anyway?

Curious in the Big Apple.

Most imported normals end up in pet stores, where they are offered inadequate care, sold to ignoramuses, and end up dead or with bellyrot/respiratory-infections/retained eyecaps within a year or less.
Sad picture to paint, but it's true. It's all the result of peoples' ignorance to learn about a pet, and provide proper caging and feeding requirements, that lead to this. If people would stop buying parasite-laden, starving, dehydrated imports, maybe the drive of importers to import them, would be lessened, and it would be a better world.
