Snake odor?

crtoon83 Sep 29, 2004 12:30 PM

I took my licorice stick out last night and as i was holding her i kept smelling an odor like something was burning and i had just changed my light bulbs on two fixtures. It drove me crazy...for 20 minutes i was trying to figure out where the smell was....but it followed me everywhere i went. I finally put her back in her cage and sat down then i realized when i got some ice cream and brought my hand up that it smelled so i smelled my hand and it came off her! Anybody ever heard of this? She's been on aspen for about 2 weeks now and i've been spot cleaning it...this telling me i need to change it all out or what?

Thanks,
Chris

My group all do this, they excrete a pretty foul white creamy
substance from their cloaca, it stinks.
Its just a way of them saying 'go away' and i guess it
works pretty well.
As they tame down it gets better, but you had better get
used to it.
Ridleyi also 'musk' and they are just as bad, believe me.

that's really odd. she hasnt ever done this before and she was just sitting wrapped around my wrist calm as could be. so is this the musk or is it different from the musk?

Its the musk, just wash it off with some soap and water, though it
does tend to hang around a bit.

Snakes in fact do musk, rats especially, the King Rat from China smells like s*it in fact, is a foul smelling beast. I had a yellow rat that musked me a lot as well. is nasty but harmless.
