My baby Stripe rarely comes out

GreedyG2004 Sep 29, 2004 01:00 PM

I put up a thread last week showcasing my 2 new baby geckos. I have one Bell Albino and one Stripe. The Albino is a busy body clibing all over everything and checkin out everything, however the Stripe always stays hidden away inside her favorite rock structure. She only really comes out to eat and when she has to take a poop. And half the time she'll only eat if the cricket or meal worm crosses in front of the rock structure. Is this something I should be worried about? Her health seems to be fine, she eats normally and she poops regularly.

Here are pics of them runnind around (one of the few rare times the Stripe is out... and even in the pic she was going back in the rock)

Don't worry. There is nothing wrong with your leo. All lizards are different. I have a pair that is extremely shy and will only eat when I toss a cricket into their hides. I then have to lay with my head at a 90 degree angle to see inside and watch them get the crickets. It is a fact that leos also see better when it is darker, they hunt at night. So mine have an easier time hunting when they're in their big hide.

No need to worry. As the last reply said they are all different. I have a baby that over the last couple of months has started to venture out in the early evenings. Before I never saw her at all. They seem to relax a bit as they get older.
