An unfair comparison to say the least, but this picture was taken outside 5 minutes after I took the shot of the MTH. Now I know she's not red. Her color is quite variable and goes through an amount of darkening, at times looking much redder. At one time Dan considered calling them Chameleon boas, as they underwent the similar color changes that Hog Island boas do. Not nearly as red as the MTH, but those are the "reddest boas on the planet". However, the relative amount of black pigment has remained low, while color remaining high. Reguardless of what some may think about its transmition, where I'm from, when parent generation animals produce offspring similar to themselves.. its genetic.
