Variety in food....

L0WRIDER Sep 29, 2004 08:00 PM

How important is the variety in thedaily diet. Tiny doent like it when we switch up the different types of greens in his food. He has been eating the same mixture of Dandelion greens, Collards, Arugula, Watercress, Endive, and Escarole for many months. He still pounds it down every day.

Just curious...

I cant say about the need to vary but i observe that my iguana dont like very much diversity, i do vary it often because i cant get all the fresh food every week. Our veggies store dont have much variety. I plan to try to grow my own dandelion this winter .

For your diet i would just add a little bit of green beans, squash and fruit.

My diet is fine. All i was talking about was the greens. Along with the base greens i give Tiny sweet potato, acorn squash, parsnip, and the occasional papaya or grapes as fruit.

For treats when i take him out are mostly sugar snap peas and canalope. Tiny LOVES sugar snap peas. He stopped licking them, he will just lung out for them.

I love to look at old pictures of when Tiny was really young...

How big is Tiny getting now? I bet he's growing like a weed. Our iggys are getting a lot bigger and it really shows.

Well i havent measured him in a while... but u can tell he is getting big. the most change is in his width. He looks like an obese iguana ill measure him tomarow and get a new pic of him and his enclosure...

this is a picture of him about 2 months ago...
