veiledchamlver Sep 29, 2004 08:21 PM

what is a good mister that has a fine spray and and can be used inddors and outdoors. I would want one that can have a timer to set for the times it sprays. I can afford 75$ and under.

Good luck, the cheapest I got was the Mr. Moisture, and with the heads I needed 3 total, it was about 140.00, you can make a manual one for like 40.00, but not automatic.

I can afford 100$ probally but why did you buy 3 heads. I only need the ultra fine mister one for my veileds. Are there any good ones like that for 100$

The set-up will do up to 20 cages, If you only need 1 it comes with it. Unless you really need a automatic sprayer I have great sucess with my manual 1 I made, every time I walk by the cages I just hold down spray handle for like 30 sec and they are misted, but if you need a automatic one thats gonna be your best choice money wise. the website is wetworks.com

I'm gettin' a 10 week old vieled in a week and i'm curious is it really importnant to constantly mist ? like i work 8-5 mon-fri so i'm curious should i get an automatic mister or couldn't i just mist b4 i leave and mist when i get back home ? oh, do the baby veileds need as much water ?

Misting is pretty much necessary for your chameleon's health. It's like asking "is it that important for humans to eat?" yes it is. Misting is how chams obtain most of their water. A lot of chams don't even use a dripper that often. Mine completely ignores the drip.

They should be misted at least 3-4 times a day for at least 1 minute in duration or until your cham stops drinking. I think I use about 20-30 oz (about 10 oz per mist session 3 times a day). a day of water, which seems like a lot, but my veiled loves being sprayed and drinks like a fish.

And, yes, it's still important for babies to get as much water. Obviously not the same AMOUNT of water as an adult, but still mist regularly 3-4 times a day.

is the habba mist mister from lllreptile.com any good?

alejandro2004 Sep 30, 2004 05:44 PM

not really

veiledchamlver Sep 30, 2004 06:02 PM

what is wrong with it? is there anything cheaper than the mr. moisture that can be digitally timed that has a fine mist

jonpcab Oct 01, 2004 12:38 PM

Not really. Mr. Moistures pretty much the cheapest way to go. It's a good investment, though.

The habba mist is really ineffective. It's loud and easily stresses the animal, it doesn't produce a fine mist like you would think, and it doesn't spray that far. Not ony that, it hold very little water.

Just save up for the Mr. Moisture and you'll be happy in the end.
