budgett's diet

can goldfish be a staple? what else should i throw in?

Use crickets and other gutloaded insects as the staple. You can feed fish as a supplement, but I defintely would not feed fish exclusively or as the majority of the diet.

Hey there... I have had a baby budgett's for 1 1/2 years now (and have fed him either feeder gold fish (which he prefers) 90% of the time and have offered him crickets as an alternative...

I heard earthworms work well too?

I would not suggest using feeder goldfish as a major part of the diet due to the high levels of saturated fats contained in goldfish.

Other feeder fish should be fine, as well as other items like dusted insects.
