Lizard personalities.

We all know of the different personalities with out lizards.
I have 2 savannahs that are different than night and day.
Baby is the bully, while smaller than Sassy, baby will mount Sassy when ever he/she wants. Sassy will dig like a backhoe on steriods and Baby will dig on occasion.
Sassy will take his/her food and walk away and slowly swallow it.
Baby will try to eat 2 or 3 mice at one time. Baby is a greedy little be-autch.
Sassy will willingly eat thawed mice, Baby will only eat live prey.
Sassy will swim for periods of time, Baby only goes in the water to poo.
They will both walk to the door and into your hands but Baby gets hyper and squirms rather quickly. Sassy will just look at you like he/she is wondering if you brought food.
They live in the same enclosure and get along just fine as long as Sassy knows baby is in charge.

Like your post. I think the greatest joy in keeping any of the animals I keep, including the horses, is watching the different personalities. I've gotten so I get more than one of many species, not with the idea of getting into breeding, but to watch the interaction. I have a red tegu that could easily be described as a 'dumb blonde,' and a sav that likes to play with a cardboard box, turning it over and over and sleeping in it on occasion as if it were a dog bed. And the baby ackies are just a barrel of fun to watch juggle for position.

Thanks for the giggle,

Leslie
