Well, didn't you show off pics of your spray painted lizards at the UVB thread? Oops, excuse me. UVB debate.
Accually, my wife was finally willing to show me how to post pics again. HAhahahaha

Nope, never yellow, I have been looking at this florecent purple.

Hey thats a cool name. beats v. yellowreanus
we better watch out making these names up the scientists might get mad. Haha
Watch it, fellas, or the next species I describe might have to be called Varanus ignoranus!
Varanus ignoranus! Sam, for which 'person' would you name this after? There are so many to choose from....but I can take a good guess! HAHAHAHAHA
PS: There are yellow V. albigularis in Djibouti and in Eritrea localities that highly resemble V. yemenensis - yellow color in Varanid is said to be a relict trait. There are also 'white'
(= 90% white w/only brown tail banding and chevron stripe on nape) V. albigularis (non-albino) forms too occuring naturally in Africa....
Cheers,

If you look among ProExotics Ionides monitor photo gallery theres a few pics of imported BTs that are yellow, really neat photos.
I have had them in my collection, as well as salmon pink colored, melanistic, high white, blueish and greenish as well.
If you'd ever like the picture let me know. They were all blackthroats.
HI Jody,
thanks - the melanistic ones are basically V.a. angolensis forms. These same types can be seen in Southern Congo Republic (formerly Zaire).
The pink ones? What do those look like? I might know them, but today I am abit foggy....
Thanks Jody,
mark
Here you go Mark it is an old picture but it shows the color good enough. The black is faded in them and the background is a pinkish salmon color throughout.

Hi jody,
THANKS = yes I know that one....I was thinking more like V. exanthematicus 'pinkies' from West Africa....
Cheers Jody,
mark
Me and Jody were just having a little fun. Is that not allowed in your world of science and big words?
Maybe you should consider V. Nohumorous.

Oh no, I've never had an atom of humor in my life, where can I get some?? I'm surprised you can't hear me laughing all the way to Alabama at some of the stuff I read here.
