Combining Yellow Ackies??

Herp-fever Sep 29, 2004 11:55 PM

Hello all,

I have a 1.1 pair of 5 month old yellow ackies and I am interested in getting another female possibly now or in the future. However, as I have read on this forum and at other sites it seems to be difficult to introduce a new animal to the group. I am wondering if anyone has successfully done this and what they did? Or if in general everyone agrees that this is a big no no. Thanks for your help

Eric

Hi,

I am very new, so this is just my personal observation. I had a 1.1 adult pair which had been together and I added two adult females. I never had a problem with them. I would think adding another of about the same size/age would help and to make sure you have a female. You should have another cage available for quarantine or if for some reason they just don't get along. I'm sure you will get opinions from much more experienced people as I am only relating my experience. Good luck! Gotta love the ackies.

Pam
