Can I vent about the "np" for a minute please?? If you have NO MESSAGE

southernboids Sep 30, 2004 07:22 AM

PLEASE put the NP at the end of the topic line and not in the message. Afterall the NP stands for NO POST so there is no need to click on my post. When you put the NP in the message.. you are defeating the entire purpose of NP.. make sense? I know this is small and petty.. and Im sorry. But I like to run through the KS posts and it seems everyone likes to use the NP but few are using it correctly. Just thought I would chime in.

and I do agree about the convenience offered when NP is placed, as you stated, at the end of subject heading....however, since the board is set up to only allow a poster to reply with a message-( i.e.-".", "TYVM", "blah, blah...", etc. ), it's likely due to this required message that many have opted to place the NP in the body of the message and not at the close of subject heading. I suppose for reader convenience, they should place it at the close of the subject heading, but seems plausible, due to program's requirement for a "message" of some sort, that they don't. Did that make a modicum of sense? Oh yes,...MLWACP= My Long Winded And Confusing Post...LOL

when you just type a topic you are forced to put something in the message. This could be a second NP or just a period or anything so the programs thinks you have typed a message.
