I would like to tell you all just one thing. Even though I have said it a million times, I still believe it to be true, and even more relavent now. We need a NATIONAL HERP SOCIETY!

But they are mainly geared toward the science of herpetology and conservation, more than toward hobbiests, breeders, etc.

There used to be a group called AFH (American federation of herpetoculturists). They were the group that started "Vivarium" magazine, which I beleive was the first reptile oriented magazine, back in the early 80's I think. I beleive the group is no longer in exisitance. They had a huge packet they you could order that was specifically data for fighting legislation issues.

It is nesecerry but it will take someone with LOTS of organizational skills. We will only loose ground on the legal front if there we don,t organize. N.A.F.A. is a good, (real good) example of an organized group that has gained ground on wildlife issues(in the legal arena). (North American Falconry Assotiation.)
