Taiwan Beauty Snakes

jojobear Sep 30, 2004 02:03 PM

I really did it today!!! Finally after too many years away from herps and too many years of wanting asian rat snakes I bought a pair of yearly Taiwan Beauties. I had kept and bred various snakes and lizards over the years but about 3 years ago due to health problems sold out. Well I am back and just wanting any feedback on keeping these guys happy.

P.S. The breeder has another pair available if anybody is interested.

Congrats. Have you ever kept any beauty snakes before? I just bought a blue beauty hatchling, but due to Hurricane Jeanne and my availability, I can't get it until next wednesday . It's going to be an experience I feel! lol.

Good choice!! Enjoy and get a good supply of increasingly large rodents. Randy W.

Congrats! Be sure to use some tongs/hemostats when you feed them! Mine gets pretty crazy when rat time comes... They're great snakes, love my big guy!

Congrats! Great snakes, heavier bodied than a lot of the other beauties, and agreed...watch out feeding them! lol Here's a picture of my girly just before clutching, not the best picture, but lighting wasn't the best either. Didn't want to disturb her too much.
