Cage question.....epoxy, to use or not to use in the water dish

Heres the deal....I am making a cage and I am making a custom aquarium to put in for my frilled lizards water dish. I want it to look as natural as possible so my first thought was to put tile grout in it. Then I relized that the grout will not stick to the glass. So heres my idea, I am going to epoxy a bunch of rocks on the glass and fill in the gaps with the tile grout. My question is....Could I use epoxy in their dish and how long do I have to let it dry?

On another note, One of the sides of the aquarium is going to be visable(not having any grout or rocks on it so the water WILL be able to eventually seep behind the grout/rock.

as far as the dish it kinda depends what the dish is made of but i would assume if you roughed up the surface with sandpaper it should stick fine and drying time will depend on the product. as far as water getting into the tile grout you should use a grout sealer of some sort (have heard 50/50 water and elmers glue will work also) this should work fine, if you are still weary about edges you could throw some silicone in there.
