alligator snapping turtle

fullbodytwitch Sep 30, 2004 08:29 PM

Hello
a friend of mine has an alligator snapping turtle, and is not sure what to do with it, and actually does not plan on KEEPING it. It was going to be released into the wild by its previous owner, and since it isnt native to OHIO, he took it. SOOOO.. anyone know who or where or how we can go about finding a good home for this animal? not trying to sell it, just give it a good home. We are in N. KY/S. Ohio area. Please message me if you have any ideas. It would be great. I dont have a picture! Sorry!

Thanks
Miya

I'm glad no one ended up releasing this fellow out of his range! Unfortunately that happens to a lot of unwanted critters.

I would be glad to take this turtle off your hands. I have a Wildlife Preserve and Nature Center with ponds, and am a long time snapper owner and member of my local turtle/tortoise club. We specialize in turtle rescues. Please give me a call at (505) 864-3281, or email quillonflyingfox@netscape.net. Thanks, Terra Patre Wildlife Preserve.
