Just some pics of my new little ones

slw33 Oct 01, 2004 04:20 AM

These are some new little ones I adopted from a local breeder. Obviously had a few parts chomped on by cagemates.

In this pic, the guy on the left has no rear feet (well, one is on its way to falling off). The guy on the right has only one foot (his left front), and both are missing some length of tail.

This little guy has no front feet.

And yes, to answer everyone's question, these three (two from the first post and this guy) have no names yet. Suggestions are welcome.

This angle is deceiving, they are the same size.

Yeah I posted this one before, but hey, I have to complete the family portrait here. So here's Chiasson.

Wow, cute beardies. But what happened to the "deformed" ones.?

He says they are missing feet, digits, and tail parts from being eaten upon my cage mates. Sadly, it happens. A lot. Underfed dragons can prey on one another or aggressive feeders snap up each others' bits while feeding or chasing prey or more aggressive dragons get after others. Happened to two of mine before I got them. One is missing all of his tail, one is missing one rear foot and several toes/nails on other feet. Poor babies. Another argument for separation and extremely careful monitering if not housed separately.

Cute babies, and good for the original poster for taking in these guys!

Best,
michele

No, it's NOT a big house

Actually, its "she said"

But yeah, that's exactly what happened. The breeder was away for a weekend, and the person caring for the little guys either didn't feed enough, or such. The odd thing is that two of the "deformed ones" are housed together now, since they are a bout the same size. But one of them, the one who's missing his front feet, will defend the little guy with just one foot. He's nipped me a couple of times when I move my hand too fast cleaning or feeding or such.

What I think is so interesting is watching them adapt. The one dragon who has only one front foot, has really started to use his/her tail to walk. Its sort of a full body proplusion.

WOW.....they look good except the lack of feet and tail.

It makes me mad to see how mistreated these animals are in pet stores. I'd like to know what petstore you got them from so I don't make the mistake of supporting them in any way, shape or form.
