probably a stupid Q but Im asking anyway..on feeding a BTS and a BD

cee4 Oct 01, 2004 08:25 AM

Why is it that one can feed a BTS tinned cat food, scrambled eggs etc in with thier greens but BDs can only have crickets or special pellets? They seem to both have the same food requirements. I dont own a BTS but am thinking of getting one soon. I do however own a couple BDs who are on the strict vege, cricket, pellet diet. I must be missing some critical bit of info that would set this Q into place.

Well, first let me say i know nothing about skinks. I know they come from Australia but that's about the extent of my knowledge. Oh yea, they bite hard and are blue

As far as dragons go, you can feed them other things outside of crix, greens, and pellets... that is if you are talking about treats. Too many foreign treats can cause runny stools and regurgitation and other "problems." "breeders" have tried raising dragons on cat/dog food diets and from what i remember there were a lot of problems.

You can feed your dragons small amounts of scrambled eggs and other treats. Just the other day our dragon Starburst was eyeing my chicken sandwhich so i tore off a piece of white bread and she tore into it. She had a good four bites before I cut her off... she probably would have ate the whole sandwhich.

The key is small limited treats not staples.

just my opinion,

Are you from Michigan? I ask because I see one of your cats is named "oberon", which is a Michigan-brewed beer.
