panther shed

bmelv24 Oct 01, 2004 05:36 PM

I know this may sound a little paranoid, but I have a 3.5 mo. old panther and have had him for two weeks. He eats about 12 crickets a day, and today I threw some domestic house flies in to the cage and in about a minute he'd already got two of them. I just want to know if I should be doing anything special when he sheds. I looked into the cage this afternoon and there was shed skin on a couple branches. He still is rubbing hi nose a little on the screen ( i'm guessing to get the rest off) He gets misted about 3-4 times a day, plus has a habbamist that goes for 15 sec every hour. Since this is my first cham, just wanting to double check everything sounds ok.

sounds like you have everything all good. what are his temps. what do you keep him in.
p.s. is the habba mister worth the money. does it have a fine mist.

I have him in a scales screen cage ( 48 X 24 X 24) I know thats a little big for a baby cham, but I cup feed him, so he can find his food. I have a room with all my reptiles in it so it stays about 85 during theday, around 70-75 during the night. He has a 100 watt lamp plus a reptisun 5.0 bulb, so he gets a range of temps in the cage. The habba mist does not really have a " fine mist" but for 50 bucks it creats a litle moisture until I can spray him throughout the day.
