I have never owned a green tree python (Morelia viridis) but I have been interested for a long time. I do own 6 carpet pythons which are in the same genus (Morelia). Also, I have done my research on the captive care conditions of green tree pythons. I love the bright green color that I have seen on many adults. I am aware that there are many locality specific colored green tree pythons. Which of theses localities displays the brightest coloration as an adult? I'm looking for a locality that displays a bright lime green coloration that has a bit more yellow than blue. When I was younger, I was amased at the bright yellows and reds of the juveniles that I saw at the zoo. I still am amased at those colors and the colors of the adults. Also, I have heard that very young baby green tree pythons comonly have feeding problems. Is there a lizard any of you can recomend me to scent the pinkies with in case I get one and it won't feed? I don't wat to force feed at all because of their fragile tail tips. And a question strictly out of curiosity: does it seem interesting to any of you that both of the bright green arboreal boids (he green tree python and the emerald tree boa)start life as yellow, orange, brown, red, or (only in the case of the emerald tree boas)green as babies? Is there a reason for this, does green camoflauge not work well for smaller snakes?

1. Sounds like you are very interested, so I highly reccomend getting "The Complete Chondro"

2. I wouldnt really worry about locale cause its not really relevant in CB animals. Although there are distinct differences between the island forms and a biak type would probably fit your color desires.

3. If you buy an established baby from a reputable breeder you shouldnt encounter this problem (except of course adult males) Also, chick down is usually more affective than lizard scent.

If your lookin for a biak type from a reputable breeder, I highly reccomend Rico Walder!! Good Luck!!!
