Something very wrong with leo's eyes

cds Oct 01, 2004 08:08 PM

Over the last while, my leo's appetite has decreased and it seemed like she was spending most of her time sleeping. I went away on business for a week and left a dish full of mealies, which was full when I returned. Today I noticed that one of her eyes looks very clear and cloudy and may be discharging a liquid substance. She won't even open her other eye. I'm worried she might have gotten some sort of eye infection and is unable to see properly now (that would explain the lack of appetite). I'll take her to the vet this weekend, but I don't know if there is much they can do....it looks pretty bad. Does anyone have any experiences/advice?

Some more background info about my leo: i've had her for about a year, she lives alone in a 30 gallon tank with a UTH and humid hide, as well as a few other hides. She has never had any previous health problems.

My guess is that she got something in her eye. Possibly some shed skin or substrate.
