Bill,
I was curious as to the size and age of your female. Also, did you manipulate the temp. or photoperiod to any degree? Goodluck,
Kelly
I thought that I read that Andacondas have to be in water or will only copulate in water? Have you or do you know any one who has bred them with out being in a large pool?
Just curious

I LOWERED THE NIGHT TIME TEMPS SLIGHTLY AND DECREASED THE DAYLIGHT CYCLE. THE FEMALE IS AROUND 15FT. AND THE MALE IS OVER 10FT. THEY COURTED FOR A LONG TIME THIS YEAR BUT I DID NOT WITNESS OVULATION. YES JIM, I ALSO READ THAT ANACONDAS WOULD ONLY COPULATE IN WATER. THERE IS A 500 GALLON WATER TROUGH IN THEIR ENCLOSURE AND I WITNESSED COPULATION IN WATER AND ON LAND. ONCE AGAIN SHOWING THAT THE BOOKS AREN'T ALWAYS RIGHT. I'VE LEARNED THROUGH EXPERIENCE THAT ALOT OF REPTILE BOOKS WERE OBVIOUSLY WRITTEN WITH A LIMITED AMOUNT OF RESEARCH.
Their enclosure must be huge!, I would never have the room to house a snake that gets that big and with that kind of specialized needs, keep up the good work.
Thanks
