I have always used vermiculite to incubate all my eggs, and this year i thought about using perlite.... was looking for some feedback as to what others thought was best.....

I have always used vermiculite as well, but I have heard perlite works just fine. Due to its abrasiveness, however, you need to remove the hatchlings from the perlite container right after they hatch. Otherwise, small scratches and abrasions may cause problems. As you know with the vermiculite (and sphagnum moss) you can leave the hatchlings in there for several days if needed. The high humidity likely helps with their first shed.

Good luck with your eggs!

what about sphagnum? i love it!!! i guess i'd use vermiculite or perlite if the eggs didn't clump though, to each his/her own!
