277 report...no snakes, 1 falcon!

happycamper Oct 02, 2004 01:31 PM

I was hunting 277 last night one last time for the year, and was looking under a bridge (overpass) and I spotlighted a bird sitting in a swallows mud nest. It was a male American Kestrel and it flew directly at me and hit my spotlight...twice! Then it landed right next to me and shrieked a couple of times. Really pretty bird, never seen one up close like that. I wonder why it attacked my light? Another season passes with no alternas found by me...
