isn't he somewhat more yellow than usual? He seems to like changing color from a darker to brighter variation....

The changing to a brighter color is what we call firing up. Dragons will do this on a daily basis usually. He is a nice gold color but there are beardies out the re that are much more yellow however.
He is still a very nice looking dragon!
