Two clutches of Aussies hatched here this year. The first began hatching on June 5, 2004, coinciding with the death of President Ronald Reagan. The final egg from the second clutch hatched on the 4th of July. All in all, a collection of very noteworthy birthdates this year here at BoaMorph.

Thanks Kenneth. The hatchlings are easy to get started, you just have to be patient - they are big fat hatchlings, and though some of them will start right after their first shed, others still aren't ready yet. The trick is to start them on f/t. They're scared to death of anything that moves!

All our animals are fed f/t, with the exception of newborn boas. I find they tend to be reluctant to take f/t initially, whereas, for example, we got 100% acceptance of small live mouse hoppers at first offering with all of our newborn boas this year (74 for 74!). After 2 to 3 meals they're easy to switch onto f/t. Beyond this exception, f/t is the way to go!
