getting bit for the first time

screamingwoman Oct 02, 2004 09:26 PM

Well it finally happened. My precious Princess bit me. She seems to like being held. As I was placing her back in the tub..WHAM. On the back of my wrist. Surprisingly it did not hurt. All my friends are housed in my laundry room, next to the sink. Turned the water on warm, and within 5 seconds she let go. Trying to unwrap her was another thing!!! I am a small woman (5'2" 110 pounds) She did not want back in her tub. I recently switched her to rat fuzzy. I think it is not enough for her. She is about 450 grams. Next week she gets a small rat and no Nancy.LOL

Just wanted to share.

Congratulations!

You are officially, "IN THE CLUB" - LOL!

Seriously, whenever they do bite is more shocking than the physical damage inflicted. An adult female will pack a better punch, so once your girl is all grown up we expect an update. I am a bad "flincher", so my wife takes great pride pointing this out in front of other herpers. The good thing about this is I rarely get bit!

Take care,
Todd G.

I got bit by my first ball at about 500 grams. I just got done feeding her two mice, apparently she was still hungry. I just sat there for about five minutes until she uncoiled on her own. She's my favorite ball and I didn't want to risk any damage to her. The bite looked worse than it felt. My fingers were turning purple from her squeezing on me, and she drew a pretty good amount of blood. She's now on rats and is much more satisfied after feeding.

Congrats! I don't fear snake bites like used too because I realize it's gonna happen eventually. Even when I'm being careful.

There are 2 kinds of snake keepers, the bitten and the gonna get bitten. LOL!

I recently had my first bite. Only a 250g male. We were on our way to dinner and he looked antsy so I was holding him away from me. I wasn't looking and I felt him brush against my leg and I though, he shouldn't have just brushed against my leg. I looked down and I was bleeding (all 4 fangs and 1 row of top teeth). He just acted like nothing happened.

I'm probably still a flincher, but the extreme lack of pain will hopefully help me to break that dangerous reflex. I'm just glad that I didn't see it coming so I couldn't damage him or me (further than I already was, anyway).
